I have been practicing massage for the past
21 years. My unique massage style is a blend of my massage training and experience and is built on empathy, respect and tenderness. I followed my dream of moving to Devon in 2011, my maternal family home and currently practice from my beautiful clinic in central Totnes.
A SAFE SPACE
My therapy space is a place for my clients to fully show up as they are, in the knowledge they are in safe hands. My experience with working with the homeless in Torbay has broadened my understanding of addictions, trauma, mental health and wellbeing. I have trained in Mental Health First Aid, Resilience Skills, Mindfulness and Trauma Informed
Practice.
WELLBEING & SELF-CARE SUPPORT
I am passionate about empowerment. Working holistically allows me to support my clients with their physical and mental wellbeing, to understand the source of any discomfort, develop prevention techniques and selfcare like stretches, self massage and self soothing.
MY MASSAGE TRAINING
Working as a team leader for Urban Chill Onsite Massage
company from 2004, I delivered short and effective back, neck and head massage using Swedish and Indian head massage techniques, skills which I passed on to my team.
In 2008 whilst travelling in India I studied Ayurvedic Massage. On my return, I went on to qualify at the School of Complementary Health in Exeter with an ITEC in Holistic Swedish Massage
in 2011.
In 2015 I undertook a Complementary Medical Association certified Pregnancy Massage
Course.
In 2017/18 I trained in 'No Hands' Massage
in Yorkshire. A unique therapy that utilises the therapist's weight and flow, massage strokes using the forearms and elbows and rocking motions. This allows me to offer a deeper massage to my clients that is truly comforting whilst addressing the issues. It is also deeply releasing and relaxing.
In 2020, I joined Jing Advanced Massage School's Online Self-Care course and professional mentoring group. This has given me access to a broad range of self care resources to offer my clients. In May 2021, I undertook their Foundation In Advanced and Clinical Massage. I incorporate these tools: Sports stretching, acupressure, trigger points, myofascial and muscle energy technique into my practice with clients reporting greater pain relief and energy flow.
In 2022, I completed a weekend foundation course in Bowen. I incorporate these techniques into my sessions to add extra relaxation, release and ease for my clients. Clients often report that Bowen leaves them feeling a heightened sense of calm and peace.
